Anonymize your links by hiding HTTP Referer header.

What is HTTP Referer?

The HTTP referer is a header information sent by browsers when an user clicks/follows a link, that identifies the address of the source webpage liking the destination webpage. By checking the referrer, the new webpage can see from where the request originated.

Why do I need to hide HTTP Referer?

Privacy - that's all. Webmasters or an user posting a link anywhere on the web might not want the referred webpage to know from where the visitor originated or where the link is posted. On hiding this, the operators of the referred page cannot see where their visitors come from any more.

How this works?

When a visitor clicks a link generated from this webpage, the visitor is redirected to the destination webpage and the HTTP Referer header is removed in between. Before the visitor is redirected to the destination webpage, the visitor lands on a temporary webpage on our site which uses some special script to remove the HTTP Referer header. This all happens automatically and within a fraction of a second without the visitor noticing any difference.
